Applications are invited from officers under the Central Government/State Governments/Union Territories for filling up two posts of Senior Technical Assistant (Minor Irrigation) in the pay scale of Rs.5500-175-9000/- in the Ministry of Water Resources, New Delhi by transfer on deputation basis.

Qualification and eligibility: The officer should be

(a) (i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; or
(ii) with 3 years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs. 5000-150-8000/- or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; and

(b) Possessing (A) (i) Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent; and
(ii) One year’s experience in Irrigation Projects OR
(B) (i) Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution or equivalent; and
(ii) five years experience in Irrigation Projects

Period of deputation: shall not ordinarily exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Terms and conditions of deputation and pay: of the officer will be regulated in accordance with DoPT O.M. No.2/29/91-Estt.(Pay.II), dated 5.1.1994, as amended from time to time.

Last date of receipt of application: Applications (in duplicate) in the prescribed proforma may be sent through proper channel to the Under Secretary (Admn.), Ministry of Water Resources, Shram Shakti Bhawan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi- 110001 within 60 days from the date of advertisement (22th April 2009). While forwarding the applications the following documents/certificate(s) should be positively furnished by the sponsoring authority; (i) Particulars given by the applicant are correct; (ii) no vigilance/disciplinary case is either pending or contemplated against the applicant; (iii) up-to-date CR dossier (iv) Integrity Certificate, No Penalty Statement and (iv) in the case of selection, officer will be relieved for taking up his new assignment.

Sikkim University required Controller of Examinations and Librarian

Sikkim University is looking for dynamic and forward looking professionals to be appointed as Controller of Examinations (tenure post for five years) and Librarian (on regular basis) in the scale of pay of Rs.16400-450-20900-500-22400/- (pre-revised, but to be revised soon).

A. Minimum Qualification for Controller of Examinations:

1. A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale.

2. At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer (Sr. Scale)/Reader of which eight years should be in Reader’s grade with experience in Educational Administration.

OR

Comparable experience in research establishments and other institutions of higher education.

OR

15 years of administrative experience of which eight years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.

B. Minimum Qualification for Librarian :

1. A Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record;

2. 15 years of experience in a University Library at supervisory level, of which eight years as Deputy Librarian or eighteen years’ experience as a College Librarian; and

3. Evidence of innovative library service, organization of published work and extensive familiarity with library automation

Desirable

M.Phil/Ph.D degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/ Archives and Manuscript-keeping. Note: 5% relaxation at Master’s level for both the posts shall be allowed for those candidates of SC/ST category and for those who are already in the University system.

Age Limit : Not more than 58 years as on 1.1.2009

Applications in triplicate along with two recent passport size photographs, photo copies of all supporting documents and processing fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates) in the form of DD drawn in favour of Sikkim University payable at Gangtok, should reach the Officer on Special Duty, Sikkim University, 6th Mile, Samdur, P.O. Tadong – 737 102, Gangtok on or before 16th March, 2009. The envelope should superscribe the post applied for.
