NCRA-TIFR has set up and operates the world's largest radio telescope at metre wavelengths, the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT). GMRT is located at Khodad, near Narayangaon, about 80 km north of Pune. For details visit http://www.ncra.tifr.res.in. NCRA is on the lookout for suitably qualified candidates for the following positions:

1. Engineer-D [1 UR; HQ: Khodad]: [TME: Rs.33797; Pay: Rs.18750 (PB-3 15600-39100) and GP: Rs.6600]. EQ: First Class BE (electronics, telecommunication or instrumentation) from a recognized university. Exp.: At least 6 years in a reputed organisation, of which 3 years in a supervisory position. Exposure to dc motors, SCR/ MOSFET drives and microprocessor based controllers will be preferred. Job description: Servo electronics for GMRT. Age: Below 35 years.

2. Engineer-D (FTA: 3 years) [1 UR; HQ: Khodad]: [TME: Rs.33797; Pay: Rs.18750 (PB-3 15600-39100) and GP: Rs.6600]. EQ: First Class BE (electronics, telecommunication, instrumentation or computers) from a recognized university. Exp.: At least 4 years or First Class ME / M.Tech with 2 years experience in a reputed organisation. Job description: Digital / Computing / Software. Age: Below 33 years.

3. Engineer-C (Mechanical) [1 OBC; HQ: Khodad]: [TME: Rs.28316; Pay: 15600 (PB-3 15600-39100) and GP: 5400]. EQ: First Class BE (Mech) from a recognized university. Exp.: At least 2 years in erection, welding and maintenance of hydraulic equipment and general machinery. Age: Below 31 years.

4. Engineer-C [3 UR; HQ: Khodad]: [TME: Rs.28316: Pay Rs.15600 (in PB-3 15600-39100) and GP: Rs.5400]. EQ: First Class BE (electronics, telecommunication or instrumentation) from a recognized university. Exp: 2 years in a reputed organisation. Exceptional candidates with 1-year experience will also be considered. Job description: Analog / Digital / Servo. Age: below 31 for OBC and 28 for UR.

5. Engineer-C (FTA: 3 years) [3 UR; HQ: Khodad]: [TME: Rs.28316: Pay Rs.15600 (in PB-3 15600-39100) and GP: Rs.5400]. EQ: First Class BE (electronics, telecommunication, electrical, instrumentation or computers) from a recognized university. Job description: Analog / Digital / Servo / Computing. Age: below 26 years.

General: Candidates applying for posts reserved for OBC should attach a copy of caste certificate along with non-creamy layer certificate issued by the competent authority. Copies of all certificates should be duly attested. Candidates are liable to be transferred to other Centres/Field Stations of the Institute. Candidates applying for posts at Sr No. 1 to 5 and all SC/ST candidates will be reimbursed 2nd class (non-AC) train fare. Title: “Synthesis and Characterization of Hydrophillic-b-Hydrophobic-b-Hydrophillic Tri-Block Copolymers through Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization”.

Duration: 3Years

Essential qualifications:

For JRF: MSc. in Chemistry, with minimum 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test. NET qualified candidates under i) JRF and ii) Lecturership (NET) categories can be applied to this. Non-NET or non-GATE qualified candidates can not be appointed as JRF as per CSIR guidelines.

For SRF: The NET/GATE qualified candidates having a minimum of 2 years of research experience after M.Sc. or equivalent degree are eligible to apply. Non-NET/GATE qualified can also apply but they should have M.Sc. in Chemistry with two years training in methods of research and aptitude for research assessed from publications in peer reviewed journals.

For RA: Ph.D. in Chemistry.

The eligible candidates will be interviewed by a Board consisting of the PI, Head of the Department and an external member. The suitable candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA will be paid.
